Even for us, daily reading (nearly) all important publications to the subject light, attending further training and visiting all important fairs, the unlimited quantity of news to the subject light is simply overwhelming.

Phantastic Light & Building 2010

"The global demand for energy-efficient lighting and building is immense. This confirms the impressive results of the sixth Light + Building ", says Dr. Michael Peters, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt. More than 180,000 visitors (2008: 167.000) came to the 16 April ended World Trade Fair for Architecture and Technology. This is an increase of about eight percent of the event two years ago. 2177 Manufacturer (2008: 2,173) from all over the world presented under the theme of energy efficiency in a fairground booked their innovations and trends for lighting, electrical and home and building automation. The visitors come from the gains at home and abroad alike, the international share is now at over 43 percent to nearly one in two visitors came from abroad.
In our view, one theme was remarkable: beside the enormous potential of LED technology, nearly all manufacturers of technical lighting set in 2010 in addition to LED-based products continue to conventional assemblies, such as fluorescent, metal halide or compact fluorescent lamps.
A clear indication that today, despite the enormous future potential of LED´s a sophisticated use of different light sources still represents reality in the project area. Entirely on the future of LED sets Philips: it´s reported in insider circles, that Philips has invested the last 3 years over 4 billion euros in the future technology.
And one more tendency was clearly to see: the borderlines between technical and decorative illumination begin to move more and more. And that’s the big theme in Frankfurt over all: everything grows together.
